i told him the day i met him that i would never go to a ska show with him. i have my limits.

Some months are worse than others when it comes to THAT time. You know what I’m talking about girls. And this month is the worst in a while. Lots of pain, lots of bloating, lots of lots of things. Add to it, it was a little early and kind of unexpected and BAM I am in for a good time.

Out comes the Midol. I hate this drug, but sometimes it is the only thing that works. So out it comes.

Unfortunately, I rarely have caffeine. I don’t drink pop, I don’t don’t drink coffee, I rarely drink tea, I am pretty careful with my chocolate. My body is not use to caffeine. And one of the big ingredients in Midol is caffeine. It is suppose to help with the fatigue.

I’m wired. I can’t focus. I feel shakey. This is why I hate this drug. But the headache and severe cramping is gone. Which I guess makes it worth the other side effects.

Or maybe not.

what else is in midol? (we don’t have it here)
maybe if you can get whatever else is in the midol in a different form and avoid the caffeine.

it seems stupid to me that they’d put caffeine in anything - in the uk it’s in cold and flu stuff… if i want caffeine i’ll have a coffee or a coke or something.

I could get everything in midol by buying a bunch of different drugs, not one. It’s got pain killers, a diuretic, and the caffeine. The pain killers in it are higher dose than most and while it claims to be only Acetaminophen, it helps when regular tylenol and/or advil/motrin don’t…(even when I cheat on the dosage on it). So I am not sure what that is all about.

acetaminophen is just paracetamol. we don’t get tylenol or motrin here so i don’t know what they are, but advil is ibuprofen, so that would work differently. in theory the same dose of paracetamol that’s in midol should work for the pain the exact same way.

what’s the diuretic for? probably not really necessary.

i don’t like it if the comma or full stop doesn’t belong to what the person has said.

(a quick google scan tells me that putting the comma on the inside of the quotation mark is american - as usual, i prefer the english english way)

-I agree with the mail. It is such a hassle.

-Putting away laundry. I absolutely loathe putting away laundry.

That’s seriously fucked up. She shouldn’t have had kids. Well known child abuse case where the mother depersonalized the child (who’s an adult now) by calling him “it.”

More than odd, I’d be concerned (seriously).

First thing I thought of was Dave Pelzer, who wrote “A Child Called It.”

That’s who I meant, and couldn’t remember his name. It was the first documented case of child abuse ever I think (there was no DSS before him). The mother called him “it” His first book was so sad.

these kids are spoilt, not abused. this mother exhausts herself every day pandering to these children - most people who’ve dealt with children know that “no” meaning “no”, even with a resulting tantrum every now and then is better than “no” meaning “yes but only if you threaten a meltdown and then i will give in”. not this lady - she can’t stand her kids upset so does the whole bargaining and distracting and everything but letting them be upset - except with things that might be dangerous.
if the “it” signifies that she thinks of them as property, then they are extremely precious property.
but it’s still very weird.

her sister calls her own six month old “it” too. but when they’re small you can kind of pass it off as being almost an extension of calling the kid “it” before they’re born and before they have a known gender. but it still makes me uncomfortable.
